One year on.

Hello!

Long time, no words…I’m sorry!

I have been having some sort of rollercoaster of thoughts, mental anxieties, and just generally being busy with family.

I marked the year anniversary of the passing of my son with my family, at one of his favourite beaches. A place we spent a lot of time when he was a child, so we thought it was fitting to spend the day there and remember him. It was a lovely day, but it all came with a swirl of heavy emotions, especially working up to the day. I guess I’m still learning to manage his loss, and accept this will be an ongoing life struggle.

As much as I don’t want it to, I have to accept that it affects my ability to put words down some days. I’m not a quick writer anyway, as I don’t seem to be able to write short stories, but this seems to be slowing the progress further, but, the stories are there!

In some better, amazing personal news, my eldest daughter is heavily pregnant, and due to give birth around the beginning of October! We’ll await the little princess’s arrival, and I’m sure they’ll be pictures.

Onto book news! Julian’s editing got delayed, but it’s finally gone to the proofreader and hopefully will be available really soon!

I’m currently working on Joe and Jacob’s story, and hopefully you’ve seen the little cover and title spoiler!

I’m trying to write this as a standalone, so that someone can jump into it and read their story, but as you can imagine, there’s a lot of back story so this might not work. We’ll see how it pans out. I’ll be looking to find a few readers who’ve not read my books to Beta read it, to give me feedback on whether it makes sense, then make a decision on how it’s marketed from there. Either way, the story is as it is.

I’m about two thirds of the way through, and it’s turning out a little different to past books. Both Joe and Jacob are coming at their relationship from different sides, even different life experiences, but they are supporting each other’s wobbles as they begin. I think it’s sweeter than anything I’ve written before, but they’re not finished telling me their story yet, so who knows, it might change!

After this book is released, I’ll be able to share my new ideas with you, as Joe is running them!

The next book in line after, will be Kellen and Mattie’s story. I’ve got some of this written down already, but it’s complicated. Mattie’s backstory is complicated, and some has featured in other books previously, so I need to try and keep to the timeline as much as possible. In my head, I have a clear story of events, but putting them down for others to understand doesn’t always go how I want it!

So that’s my news for now. I hope everyone loved Star Cluster. We’ll see more from the family through other books.

Love to all
