I think Layton is an all-round nice guy who loves his life as a slave owner, and does things he doesn’t quite like sometimes, to protect that. Unlike other slave owners, Layton is prepared to do things differently. He’s willing to change things to get the best out of a slave, not just punish them into subservience. He loves his work and his people, and I think the decisions he made for Isaac, served him just as much. He’s a Dominant and they can be pretty selfish. Apart from being very confident, I think he and Joe are a lot alike, they both care a great deal but have just led different lives. He got a little consumed with anger over what Joe did, but I think that just proves he’s human
